Let me guess… You’re working really hard at everything you do, especially your marketing.
Remember that scene in the Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man are walking through a foreboding part of the forest?
There’s a story welling within you, too. A story that’s shaped your path and led you here―to this moment! A story that can touch the hearts and minds of the people you most wish to serve, who want what you’ve got...

In the busyness of life and work, it’s easy for your brand―the impression you make when you step into the virtual world―to get a bit stale. There’s a lot to do to keep it vibrant and fresh, and always reflecting who you are, what you stand for and the gifts you bring to your tribe.
Branding is a word used everywhere today! It means many things to many people. Here’s what it could mean to you:
Your brand is YOU when you step into the world. The whole glorious picture! Your energy and expressions. How you look, walk and talk. How you listen and respond. What you say and do, and how you act.
This past Sunday was brilliant! Blue skies, a balmy 75―perfect for a mountain bike ride in my favorite coastal Connecticut state park. Plus, just got my bike back from the shop, super tuned up and looking sparkly new. Wow! Couldn’t wait to hit the trails!
Recently, looking out the window, I caught a flash of light gingery brown canine bouncing towards the back yard. “Georgia!” I thought, the sweet little rescue dog that lives up the street. Knowing her family would be worried, I grabbed a few doggie treats then raced to the back door.
Snow! Seven more inches cover the ground and wind scuttles drifts into hurried whirls. From my perch at the kitchen table, warm by the woodstove, I have time to think and imagine. School’s been cancelled, so has the daily rush, and if only busy puppy would take a nap all would be still.
Who’s an ideal client? For me it’s someone I adore working with, for whom I can provide my most transformational work, and who helps my business thrive. By focusing my attention and efforts on building a tribe of ideal clients I’m ensuring my happiness and well-being!
On this crazy rainy day I'm heading off to e-Women's Network’s holiday networking event in West Hartford. Fingers crossed I'll win a spot to deliver a mini "Ted Talk"!
Prepping got my wheels turning about a favorite subject > aligning your "in-the-flesh" self with your "virtual" self. Why does it matter? What difference does it make? How can you achieve it?
Ask me about hiking and I’ll fly into raptures about the fresh air, views, people I meet, packing minutia and more. Prod me about maintaining healthy energy—I’m all ears. Tips to grow my business? Bingo! I’m hardwired to embrace great info for me and you.
Imagine—a mutual friend has arranged an introduction to your favorite author and they’re coming to your home!
You want everything to be perfect for the big event. So you tidy and scrub, dress in your favorite outfit and assemble a first class tea. You can’t wait to ask your guest about their life and latest book, discover the inspiration for their first novel, and explore their challenges and aspirations.
Mmm, heirloom tomatoes grown in your garden or gleaned at a farmer’s market—the taste, smell and texture are amazing! My mouth waters at the thought of plump tomato slices, adorned with fresh mozzarella and basil pesto. Yum. And those bland hothouse replicas plied at your grocers all winter? No thanks. I want the real thing.
People are busy and often prefer scanning material instead of reading word-for-word. Help them!
Usingsubheadings and bolded text (sparingly) you can create a mini story within your message to:
Ahh, New Years’ Day—a symbolic, magical moment to create a fresh vision for your future. Time to pull yourself forward in your personal evolution and ponder, “What can I do now to create a better life by next year: complete a project, master a new skill, shed clutter, play more?”
Good morning and what a scrumptious day! Warm sun, teasing cool breezes, bunnies nibbling about my backyard—the puppy sleeps and I write. Perfect:)
